Brief description: <\/strong>Postgraduate Training Fellowships for Women is offered for women Scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDC) at Centres of Excellence in the South for research in Natural sciences related fields.<\/p>\n Accepted Subject Areas?<\/strong><\/p>\n Fields related to Natural Sciences<\/p>\n About Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n With funds generously provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Organisation For Women In Science For The Developing World OWSD has instituted a fellowship programme for female students from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs), who wish to pursue postgraduate training leading to a Ph.D., at centres of excellence in the South (developing countries), outside their own country.<\/p>\n The postgraduate training Fellowship is offered to women scientists from Sub-saharan African and Least Developing Countries to pursue postgraduate research leading to doctoral degree in a field of the natural sciences.<\/p>\n The general purpose of the scheme is to contribute to the emergence of a new generation of women leaders in science and technology, and to promote their effective participation in the scientific and technological development of their countries.<\/p>\n Scholarship Offered Since: <\/strong>Not Specified<\/p>\n Scholarship Type:<\/strong> Postgraduate research fellowship for women<\/p>\n By what Criteria is Selection Made?<\/strong><\/p>\n Who is qualified to apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n The fellowships are open to qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age) from countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and\/or LDCs.<\/p>\n The minimum qualification of applicants is an M.Sc. degree (or equivalent), or an outstanding B.Sc. honours degree, in the natural sciences.<\/p>\n The institute must be in a developing country other than the applicant\u2019s home country.<\/p>\n Number of Scholarship:\u00a0<\/strong>Several<\/p>\n What are the benefits?<\/strong><\/p>\n Scholarship will cover travel expenses, a modest monthly living allowance,\u00a0the amount of which will be determined in consultation with the host institution.<\/p>\n How long will sponsorship last?<\/strong> Each fellowship will be offered for three years<\/p>\n Eligible Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries<\/p>\n\n
